2/5/11 - First Community Dig Day - a roaring success! 

Our first Garden Day held recently was a huge success! Local residents turned out in force to help clear the ground in preparation for planting the new Garden. The Garden was initially a forest of brambles and derelict ground, but by the end of the day was already beginning to look more capable of supporting vegetables and flowers!

The sun shone and everyone enjoyed tea and cakes while getting to grips with all manner of tools to turn the Garden into a useable space! We also gathered lots of suggestions about what people might like to see in the Garden and how the community might use the space. 3 hours, a huge pile of brambles, one bird's nest, many willing volunteers, and lots of cups of tea later, we are now well on the way to creating Romsey's first Community Garden! Many thanks to all those who helped out and to those who provided expressions of support in passing!
